My painting, "Hugh and the Young Dogwood" just got in to the Juried Alumni Show at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. One of my very favorite instructors of yore was the juror, Louis B. Sloan. I actually entered the show hoping that if I got in I would get to see Lou again at the opening, which is exactly what happened. It was great to talk with him again, and it was sweet music to my ears to hear him praise the painting. Lou was the one who first showed me how to set up my palette, put together a canvas and, especially important, keep my color clean!
